Abbott Proclaims October ‘Chiropractic Health Month’ AUSTIN, TX—The Texas Chiropractic Association (TCA) is proud to announce that Gov. Greg Abbott has proclaimed October 2026 as Chiropractic Health Month throughout Texas as part of a national initiative to spread awareness of chiropractic care. “Promoting a healthy lifestyle is essential to maintaining overall physical and emotional well-being, and caring for the spine is an important part of supporting mobility and quality of life. A healthy spine allows individuals to move with greater ease and can contribute to improved sleep, circulation, and neuromusculoskeletal health. Chiropractors play an important role in helping Texans maintain these aspects of their well-being through preventive care and noninvasive treatments,” Gov. Abbott said. “Back pain and other neuromusculoskeletal conditions are among the most common reasons individuals seek medical care and can contribute to chronic pain and disability. By providing specialized care and guidance, chiropractic professionals can help Texans manage discomfort, maintain mobility, and pursue healthier, more active lives while addressing conditions before they become more severe. “Maintaining neuromusculoskeletal health requires a comprehensive approach that includes proper nutrition, ergonomics, regular movement, and healthy lifestyle choices. Through continued education, chiropractors remain informed about emerging technologies, evolving best practices, and innovative approaches to noninvasive care. Their dedication helps ensure Texans have access to quality resources and care that support lifelong health and wellness,” Gov. Abbott added. “Annually, the month of October is dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of neuromusculoskeletal health and the role chiropractors play in keeping us healthy and safe. At this time, I encourage all Texans to protect their neuromusculoskeletal health by exercising regularly and taking proactive steps to prevent injury, maintain healthy habits, and strengthen their spine.” In Texas, TCA partners with the American Chiropractic Association (ACA), along with Parker University and Texas Chiropractic College, in celebrating National Chiropractic Health Month (NCHM) in October. This year’s theme, “Chiropractic: Joint Efforts,” raises awareness of the importance of joint health by sharing health promotion and injury prevention tips. The organizations also will highlight the benefits of chiropractic’s evidence-based, nondrug approach to health and wellness. In addition to receiving an official proclamation from the State of Texas, TCA expects dozens of cities across the state to issue their own proclamations in support of chiropractors and the thousands of patients who choose chiropractic care.
