Member Spotlight: Incoming TCA President Andrew Oteo, DC

Dr. Andrew Oteo, D.C., M.B.A., C.C.S.P., is a chiropractor, healthcare entrepreneur, and advocate for the advancement of the chiropractic profession in Texas and beyond. He is the owner and president of Stonebridge Health in The Colony, Texas, a multidisciplinary healthcare practice focused on chiropractic, physical therapy, rehabilitation, regenerative medicine, and integrative healthcare solutions.
A graduate of Parker University, Dr. Oteo earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2010, later completing his MBA in Healthcare Management and becoming a Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner. His passion for healthcare began through personal experiences with sports injuries while studying Health and Exercise Science at the University of Oklahoma, which ultimately inspired his commitment to helping patients find drug-free, non-surgical approaches to pain relief, recovery, and wellness.
Throughout his career, Dr. Oteo has become known for combining visionary leadership with a strong servant-minded approach to healthcare and professional advocacy. He has remained deeply involved in organized chiropractic for many years, previously serving as District V Chair for the Texas Chiropractic Association from 2017–2024, followed by service as TCA Secretary/Treasurer and Vice President before assuming the role of TCA President.
Dr. Oteo is passionate about strengthening the future of the chiropractic profession through leadership development, membership growth, innovation, advocacy, and collaboration. He believes deeply in creating a stronger, more connected chiropractic community while helping position Texas as a national leader within organized chiropractic.
In addition to his clinical and leadership work, Dr. Oteo has actively supported veterans and active-duty military families through his work with the Patriot Project and previously served as Lead Chiropractor for the George W. Bush Warrior Open Golf Tournament medical team. He is also a former President Emeritus of the Parker University Alumni Board of Directors and recipient of numerous honors, including Parker University Alumnus of the Year, Texas Young Chiropractor of the Year, and the Texas Chiropractic Association Rising Star Award.
Outside of practice and leadership, Dr. Oteo is passionate about family, mentorship, fitness, music, and community involvement. He and his wife, Cari, live in The Colony, Texas, with their children and remain actively involved in local community initiatives, leadership programs, and charitable efforts throughout North Texas.

How long have you been a TCA member and why did you join TCA?
I’ve been a member of the Texas Chiropractic Association since I was a student at Parker University. Back then, many of the District 5 events were held right on campus, and I still remember how impactful those events were for me as a student. There were packed rooms, lots of energy, doctors connecting with students, vendors, mentorship, and just this feeling that there was something much bigger happening within the profession.
What always stood out to me was how willing chiropractors were to help younger doctors grow. TCA became a resource for me very early in my career, and honestly, it has continued to help me every step of the way as both a chiropractor and business owner.

What is your favorite thing about being a TCA member?
The people. That’s really what has kept me involved all these years.
There are so many incredible chiropractors across Texas who willingly give their time, energy, knowledge, and talents to help move the profession forward. Being around people who genuinely care about serving others and helping elevate the profession is inspiring. I’ve built friendships, mentorships, and relationships through TCA that have had a huge impact on both my career and my life.

Why did you decide to serve as TCA President and why should other Texas chiropractors consider getting involved in TCA leadership?
Becoming TCA President wasn’t something I planned overnight. It really happened gradually over time through serving on committees, helping with district events, and simply staying involved. Eventually, it just felt like the right season and the right opportunity to step into a larger leadership role.
I feel incredibly honored to serve in this position. At some point, I found myself asking, “If not me, then who?” I believe that if we’ve been blessed with talents, leadership abilities, relationships, or experiences that can help strengthen the profession, then we should be willing to give back in some meaningful way.
I also think there are many different ways to serve. Not everyone needs to be on the executive board or chair a committee. Sometimes it starts with simply attending an event, supporting the PAC, mentoring a student, or helping another chiropractor feel connected. Timing matters too. There are seasons in life where family and practice have to take priority, and that’s okay. But when the opportunity and timing align, getting involved in organized chiropractic can become one of the most rewarding parts of your career.

What are your top goals during your year as TCA President?
One of my biggest goals is to help us think bigger about where we are headed as an association over the next three to five years. For a long time, TCA has worked incredibly hard protecting and defending the profession, and that work absolutely matters. But I also want us to spend time thinking proactively and visionarily about what the future could look like.
I want us asking questions like: Where are we headed? What do we want TCA to become? How do we better serve chiropractors across Texas? Who do we need involved to help us get there?
Attending Chiropractic Congress in Boston this past year was eye-opening for me because so many associations around the country are looking to Texas for leadership and guidance. In many ways, Texas is already doing very well, but I think we’re capable of so much more.
This year, I want us to focus heavily on growth and engagement. Growing membership. Increasing involvement. Strengthening relationships with sponsors and partners. Creating more value for members. Improving communication. Building momentum.
Most importantly, I want this to be a year where people genuinely feel excited about the future of TCA and proud to be part of it.

What would you like to see from every TCA member over the next year?
Years ago in District 5, we had something called “Bring Five.” The concept was simple. Every member would invite five chiropractors or colleagues to attend one of our mixers or events. What happened was incredible because it created this snowball effect where engagement and relationships grew very quickly.
I would love to see more of that across the state. Reach out to another chiropractor. Invite someone to an event. Encourage someone who may feel disconnected from organized chiropractic to get involved again.
I’d also love to see members communicate more openly with leadership. Our members are the eyes and ears of this association. We need feedback. We need ideas. We need honest conversations about how we can continue improving and serving chiropractors better.

What is the No. 1 lesson you have learned so far as a chiropractor?
Patience.
Building anything meaningful takes time. Whether it’s building a practice, developing leadership skills, helping patients heal, or growing personally, very little happens overnight.
I’ve learned that when you stay committed to your purpose, remain patient during difficult seasons, continue treating people the right way, and keep showing up consistently, growth and opportunity tend to follow. It takes faith, integrity, consistency, and a little bit of fight sometimes too.

Who has been the key influence in your chiropractic career?
I’ve been fortunate to have many mentors throughout my career, both formal and informal. Some helped me clinically, some helped me with business and leadership, and others simply helped me through difficult seasons when I needed perspective or guidance.
One person I especially want to acknowledge is a close friend of mine, David Terre, who passed away this year. David truly embodied what it means to serve others well. He treated people with kindness, humility, generosity, and integrity in every situation.
One of the things I’ve always appreciated about chiropractic is that, at its core, it’s still about people. It’s about relationships, trust, and genuinely caring for others. David lived that out every single day, and his influence left a lasting impact on me personally and professionally.

What’s something about you (a fun fact) that not many people know about you?
I’m actually a pretty avid drummer. I’ve been playing music for years and have played everything from ’90s rock to Afro-Cuban jazz.
One of my favorite memories was when I was a student at Parker University and our band got invited to play at one of Parker’s big galas in Las Vegas. So technically, I like to joke that my claim to fame is that I once played a gig in Vegas as a drummer.
