Member Spotlight: Elizabeth Scott, DC

Elizabeth Scott, DC, has always had a passion for helping others. This, alongside her dedicated work ethic, helped create a successful and thriving human and animal chiropractic practice. Showing horses when she was young, Dr. Scott learned the importance of equine chiropractic care. Seeing the drastic improvements in function as well as the overall health of her own horses opened her eyes to the necessity of chiropractic. Dr. Scott travels mainly around Texas, and a few other states, serving her patients in a creative avenue. This unique niche has opened a multitude of doors leading to the very successful practice she has today.
Beginning with a bachelor’s degree in communication, Dr. Scott focused on how companies and businesses communicate not only with their customers, but also with their employees. Working for a Fortune 100 company immediately after receiving her bachelors helped her dive right into the ins and outs of big business. This experience helped greatly in the development of her own business after graduating from Parker University with her doctorate in chiropractic.
Starting in 2023, Dr. Scott also began to pursue teaching and speaking to expand her chiropractic passion to others. She has spoken at events like Parker Seminars Las Vegas and Dallas. She also assists with the Animal Chiropractic classes at Parker University, which has been an extremely fulfilling avenue away from everyday practice. She currently serves as TCA District 4 Secretary and also on the TCA's Membership Committee.
How long have you been a TCA member and why did you join TCA?
I was a TCA member as a student and this is my first year as a TCA member since in practice. I understand and appreciate the importance of the TCA and am extremely excited to be a part of a group with a similar mindset and goals.

What is your favorite thing about being a TCA member?
My favorite part of being a TCA member is the camaraderie and the information you can gain. I think it is extremely important to keep up to date on laws, changes, and all the news and information that is pertinent to us as chiropractors and our practices.

Why did you decide to step up as TCA’s District 4 Secretary and what do you hope to achieve in your role?
I offered to help in any capacity because I know the importance of the TCA, and I would love to see more involvement from myself and my colleagues. The more people that offer to help and do even a small part, the bigger the impact we can make. I hope to assist my district as the new secretary and build membership as well as make sure everyone that wants to be informed and involved gets what they are hoping for from our district.

What inspired you to pursue a career in chiropractic with a specialty in animal adjusting?
I have always loved chiropractic for animals. When I was young and showed horses, getting them adjusted was a big part of our success. However, I found my passion for chiropractic when I saw the huge, life-changing benefits my mother received from chiropractic care. The benefits of chiropractic, for both humans and animals, have helped me build a practice that exceeds anything I could have ever dreamed of.

What is the biggest lesson you have learned so far as a chiropractor?
The thing I remind myself of is to never stop learning and listening to others. Success comes from continued growth!

Who has been the key influence in your chiropractic career?
The chiropractic field is filled with some of the most intelligent, caring, and dedicated doctors. I have been so lucky to have had multiple chiropractors to learn from. My teachers at Parker University helped develop my skills then and remain people I can reach out to now. Even doctors with million-dollar practices prioritize helping and teaching others. There are so many influential doctors I have learned from and will continue to follow and gain knowledge from.

What’s something about you (a fun fact) that not many people know about you?
I love adjusting anything with a spine. I even enjoy adjusting chickens and turtles.
