Dr. Chris Shiflett is a 100% disabled and retired Navy SEAL, now serving as the founder and clinic director of Trident Elite Healthcare in Rockwall, Texas. As a licensed chiropractor with certifications in Functional Medicine and Neurofeedback, Dr. Shiflett leads a multidisciplinary clinic focused on root-cause solutions for complex neuromusculoskeletal and neurological conditions. His evidence-informed approach includes chiropractic care, neurofeedback, EMTT, shockwave, decompression, red light therapy, targeted supplementation, and functional movement analysis using Kinetisense. Committed to “leading from the front,” Dr. Shiflett personally tests every service he offers. His passion lies in optimizing brain function, believing that healing the brain can transform the mind and body. Outside the clinic, he is an advocate for veteran care access, founder of the Never Out of the Fight Foundation, and a rising voice in chiropractic and brain health leadership. Dr. Shiflett also serves his profession as the TCA District 5 Secretary/Treasurer and chairs TCA’s Veteran Affairs Committee. How long have you been a TCA member and why did you join TCA? I have been a TCA member for one year. I believe in this profession, and it's our responsibility to ensure we continue to protect, preserve and promote chiropractic. What is your favorite thing about being a TCA member? Being a part of something bigger, the team atmosphere, and ensuring chiropractic lives on. Why did you get involved in District 5 leadership? Because someone needed to step up, and if not me, who? Why did you agree to be the Veterans Affairs Committee chair and what do you hope to accomplish in your role? The Veterans Affairs Committee role is extremely important to me as a veteran. The VA system is flawed. I've seen it as a patient, as an intern, and now as a doctor of chiropractic. I understand the challenges and feel I can make a difference. Who has been the biggest influence in your chiropractic career? This is a tough one. When it comes to TCA itself, I have to say our very own Dr. Andrew Oteo. As for chiropractic, I have had many mentors who have influenced my career. I have had the pleasure of being mentored by local chiropractors, functional medicine practitioners, and neurofeedback practitioners. All have shaped my vision of chiropractic and health. What is your top professional accomplishment so far? Well, the first would be earning my doctorate. After that, I feel my certification in neurofeedback and functional medicine have been my top professional accomplishments from a professional development standpoint. From a clinical perspective, I have enjoyed many accomplishments. It never gets old hearing people say “thank you for actually listening" or "thank you for giving me my life back." What’s something about you (a fun fact) that not many people know about you? I’ve been under fire overseas and under pressure in practice—but nothing challenges me more than teaching patients to slow down, breathe, and heal from the inside out.
