‘Tis a Time to Give Thanks Thanksgiving might be in the rear-view mirror, but it’s never too late to give thanks. And, I, as the chief staff executive of the Texas Chiropractic Association, have much to be thankful for. To our incredible members, thank you for showing up. Whether it was at Chiro Texpo ’24, the TCA West Texas Conference, TCA Tour of Texas events, Comedy for Chiros show, or district socials, you brought the energy and made it fun! To our generous donors, thank you for helping us to meet our fund-raising goals this year. Because of you, the Chiropractic Development Initiative (CDI) is alive and well, allowing TCA to protect, promote, and preserve chiropractic in the Lone Star State. With 2024 being an election year, we also shifted our focus to the TCA Political Action Committee (TCA-PAC), and your PAC dollars allowed us to support pro-chiropractic candidates who were elected to the State Capitol in Austin. Fundraising is a 365-day, 24/7 job, so if you’re giving, donate to CDI today! To our phenomenal corporate partners, thank you for standing with Texas chiropractors. TCA welcomed J.D. Silva & Associates as our new exclusive TCA Platinum Partner. This Houston-based personal injury firm sponsored our TCA Tour of Texas and was a visible presence at all of our TCA events. Thank you to Johnathan Silva and his awesome team for stepping up and to all of our 2024 TCA Official Partners, TCA Affiliate Members, events sponsors, and exhibitors … you make everything we do possible! To our friends at Parker University and Texas Chiropractic College, thank you for being the ultimate partners. Thank you to Parker President Dr. William E. Morgan and TCC President Dr. Sandra Hughes for giving TCA a significant presence on your respective campuses and allowing TCA to reach students and alumni. You are such a vital part of the TCA community! To our leadership, thank you for your dedication to your fellow DCs and the chiropractic profession. At a time when most chiropractors are too busy (and distracted) to serve, you make the time, whether it’s participating in board and committee meetings, attending TCA events, and leading our districts. A big thank you to Drs. Todd Whitehead, Don White, and Andrew Oteo – your TCA Executive Officers – and the TCA Board of Directors, who provide the vision and leadership for YOUR state association. To our TCA staff, thank you for your positivity and perseverance. TCA has a small staff (myself, Janet Asghar and Elizabeth Rison), but they are a mighty team that gets so much done for you as a Texas chiropractor. As we enter the final few weeks of the year, 2025 will be here before you know it. There is still work to be done, with the 89th Texas Legislative Session starting in January. I expect to see you at TCA Legislative Day on Thursday, March 6, in Austin, and bring your associates, staff, friends, family, and patients! We need you there to amplify chiropractic’s voice at the State Capitol and trumpet a legislative agenda that promotes access to chiropractic care for all Texans. Since I’m in an asking mood, I encourage you to get your colleagues to join you as TCA members … most of them aren’t! If you aren’t a member, join today! By doing so, you are investing in your profession’s future by backing the ONLY organization out there that is actively fighting for the rights of Texas chiropractors and your patients. Thank you for giving me the privilege to serve the finest profession in the world. You change lives every day, just as you have changed mine! Jeff Jenkins, CAE TCA Executive Director/COO
