TCA Crowns Award Winners at Chiro Texpo’24 The Texas Chiropractic Association recently recognized the leaders of the chiropractic profession during Chiro Texpo ’24, the annual Texas state chiropractic convention, at the Hyatt Regency Frisco-Dallas. Awards were presented to Texas chiropractors and other chiropractic supporters at the President’s Gala. Max Vige, DC, of League City was honored with the prestigious Keeler Plaque, the highest honor bestowed upon a Texas chiropractor. Dr. Vige, who practices in Dickinson, served as TCA’s president from 2017-18, leading the association at a time when the association faced significant legislative and legal challenges. Dr. Vige is a graduate of Texas Chiropractic College. Josh Bonine, DC, of San Antonio was named Young Chiropractor of the Year, an award honoring a Texas chiropractor age 40 or under who has made substantial contributions to TCA. Dr. Bonine, who previously served as the District 10 State Director on the TCA Board of Directors from 2017-22, has chaired TCA’s Financial Oversight & Budget Committee for the past six years. Dr. Bonine is a graduate of Parker University. Meanwhile, Michael Martin, DC, of Plano received the first-ever TCA Legacy Award for his long-standing service to the chiropractic profession, both in Texas and across the country. Dr. Martin, who served as TCA President from 1991-92, has won every major award from TCA, including the Keeler Plaque and Young Chiropractor of the Year. Recently, Dr. Martin has been a national leader with the American Chiropractic Association, recently completing a one-year term as ACA President from 2023-24. In addition, TCA presented awards in other categories to honor TCA members and other organizations who played vital roles in advancing TCA and chiropractic in Texas.
