Come and Celebrate Our Wins, Connect with Your Colleagues at Chiro Texpo ‘23 I am down to my final month as Texas Chiropractic Association President, and what a year it’s been! If you’ve been reading e/Source and following us on social media, you are aware that we are making nice progress during the 88th Texas Legislative Session. Our Legislative Affairs Committee has been hard at work, and our incredible lobbyists from StateCraft have been at the State Capitol 24/7. Let me assure you we are making gains for the chiropractic profession. We already have our first win in our pocket. Senate Bill 271 ensures chiropractors and chiropractic patients involved in a chiropractic malpractice law suit can call for a chiropractor’s opinion on something the chiropractor did caused an alleged injury. Current law requires the opinion of a physician, so this would be a game-changer, ensuring chiropractors are treated fairly. This bill is sitting on Governor Abbott’s desk waiting for his signature. Several other TCA-supported bills are moving through committees and getting hearings. We hope to have positive news to share in the coming weeks as the session wraps up this month.
