Dr. Liechty was born in Rugby, North Dakota, on a cold January morning in 1953. He received his primary and secondary education in Kulm and Jamestown, North Dakota. After attending the University of Jamestown, a four-year Presbyterian liberal arts college, Dr. Liechty moved to Davenport, Iowa, to study chiropractic at Palmer College of Chiropractic. After graduating with honors, Dr. Liechty interned in St. Cloud, Minnesota, and completed his study in spinal biomechanics. He opened a private practice in Lakewood, Colorado, outside of Denver, where he met his wife, Sherri. Together, they decided to move to Texas and opened a clinic in Mesquite. Currently, Dr. Liechty owns American Chiropractic and American Integrated Healthcare. A longtime TCA member, Dr. Liechty served on the TCA Board of Directors as the District 5 State Director. How long have you been a TCA member? 40 years. Why did you join TCA? I became a member to support the chiropractic profession and to bond with local DCs. What is your favorite thing about being a TCA member? I enjoy the parties and being able to give back to the profession at fundraisers. Why have you been so heavily involved in TCA leadership at the district and state levels? I feel it’s important to support the TCA because the profession has so many adversaries that trying to limit our scope of practice. Why do you donate to TCA’s Chiropractic Development Initiative (CDI) and why should other doctors support TCA’s fundraising efforts? It takes huge money to protect our profession. United we stand and divided we fall. What’s your biggest professional accomplishment so far? Being a partner in Palmer College of Chiropractic’s Daring and Driven program. Assisting my son, Micah, to become a successful chiropractor. What’s something about you (a fun fact) that not many people know about you? While a first-grader in Kulm, North Dakota, I was lonesome for my mom and dad and got lost in a blizzard walking home to our farm.
