Abbott Declares October ‘Chiropractic Health Month’ AUSTIN, TX—The Texas Chiropractic Association (TCA) announces that Gov. Greg Abbott has proclaimed the month of October as Chiropractic Health Month throughout the state of Texas in conjunction with a national initiative to spread awareness of chiropractic care. “At this time, I encourage all Texans to learn more about the vital role that chiropractors play in the health care field and how chiropractic services can benefit their lives,” Gov. Abbott said. “I commend Texas chiropractors for their commitment and efforts to improve the quality of life for all Texans by promoting effective pain management and healthy lifestyles.” “On behalf of TCA, we thank Gov. Abbott for recognizing the positive impact that chiropractic has on health care in Texas,” said TCA President Chad Carpenter, DC, who practices in Boerne. “In addition to helping relieve conditions such as lower-back pain, chiropractic can reduce the need for prescription opioid pain medications and surgery. It is a cost-effective and safer alternative.” TCA partners with the American Chiropractic Association (ACA), which is celebrating National Chiropractic Health Month in October to encourage the public to take simple steps toward better musculoskeletal health. The musculoskeletal system is comprised of the spine as well as the muscles, bones and joints of the body. Keeping this vital system strong is the focus of ACA’s “Strength. Stability. Success.” campaign. “TCA is proud to partner with ACA to bring greater awareness of chiropractic to the Lone Star State,” Carpenter said. “ACA and TCA have provided outstanding tools to spread awareness at the grassroots level. Let’s stand together to make the importance of chiropractic health known to everyone.” TCA encourages every doctor in Texas to participate in this campaign. In fact, Carpenter expects several cities across the state to participate in Chiropractic Health Month in Texas.
