Summer hasn’t been exactly slow for the Texas Chiropractic Association. Lately, I’ve been living out of a suitcase. However, the Tour of Texas, our road show across Texas, is truly one of my favorite events. It’s the best opportunity for me to visit with chiropractors across this massive state and find out what is going on in their lives and practices. In addition to attending the TCA Tour of Texas events, we try to drop by offices – of members and non-members – in every city we visit. With nearly 6,000 licensed chiropractors in Texas, it’s not an easy task, but we strive to meet as many of you as possible. Understanding your challenges and concerns helps our association better serve you, and the feedback, both positive and constructive, keeps us motivated. Please tell your staff if TCA drops by or calls you – either myself or a state or district leader – to take just a moment. We’re here for you and we’re interested in what you think. Want to chat? Call us at the TCA office at (512) 477-9292 or email us at info@chirotexas.org. Back to this summer’s TCA Tour of Texas, it’s been a blast. We’ve sampled one of the finest steakhouses in Corpus Christi, cheered on the Amarillo Sod Poodles at a minor-league baseball game and enjoyed the luxury of The Texas Tech Club in one of the state’s premier football stadiums. We are shared important legal and legislative updates, raised a few dollars for the Chiropractic Development Initiative (CDI) and pulled together the chiropractic communities in the Coastal Bend, Panhandle and West Texas regions. As a foodie, I can tell you the meals were delicious, too. We’re not done, either. Next week, the TCA Tour of Texas rolls into Abilene on Thursday, August 22. Next month, we have stops in Waco, The Woodlands, Houston, Midland/Odessa and Abilene. In the fall, TCA will head to Tyler, Laredo, Beaumont and Lufkin. We are finalizing dates and venues. Check out the TCA Facebook page and/or the TCA calendar on our website for specifics. Because of the generosity of TCA Platinum Sponsor Bergquist Law Firm, we’ve expanded our tour to reach more cities. If you plan to attend a TCA Tour of Tour of Texas event, please take the time to visit with David Bergquist and his outstanding team. The Bergquist Law Firm wants to help you and your patients and they are dedicated to helping TCA thrive. We want to thank the staff at the Bergquist Law Firm and State Directors like Drs. Ryan Bailey, Ryan Hill, Jenna Hillman and Tom Hollingsworth for your hard work in putting on this summer’s TCA Tour of Texas events. You are appreciated! If you were unable to attend the TCA Tour of Texas in your area, you can still contribute to CDI to benefit TCA’s advocacy, legal defense and public relations initiatives. Hope to see you at the TCA Tour of Texas or other TCA events in the coming weeks! Come and hang out with your friends from TCA. Jeffrey S. Jenkins, CAE Executive Director
