For the past two years, the Texas Chiropractic Association has continually repeated our purpose to protect, preserve and promote chiropractic in Texas. At the recent Summer Leadership Retreat, our leadership team talked about adding a fourth P – people! In this month’s Executive Director’s Message, I want to focus on our “people” – specifically our staff, state leadership and volunteers. For those chiropractors who own and operate your own clinic, you know how challenging it can be to find (and retain) quality staff. It takes a long time to learn and master a job, but it’s even harder to find individuals who embrace your culture and cause and completely earn your trust. TCA has been blessed to have continuity with our staffing in recent years, but we are losing one of our own. Today is the last day at TCA for Elizabeth Rison, our extraordinary Marketing and Events Director. In her 2 ½ years with TCA, Elizabeth left an indelible mark. If you’ve attended Chiro Texpo, the West Texas Conference, the Chiro Classic Golf Tournament, or a Tour of Texas event in recent years you know exactly what I mean. Elizabeth has an eye for detail and brings her own brand of creativity to every event she manages. She also does it with a big smile, which made her a favorite of TCA members. Elizabeth won the TCA Board of Directors Award in 2024, and deservedly so. We will truly miss Elizabeth, but we wish her well at her next career stop. While the staff are the backbone of TCA and do much of the heavy lifting, we would be nowhere without our awesome state and district leadership. It starts at the top with our Executive Officers, Drs. Don White, Andrew Oteo and Korey Rose. These chiropractors set the tone with their passion and sense of purpose. Kudos to our Board of Directors, Committee Chairs and volunteers, who put in hours every week to make TCA stronger as an organization. At the Summer Leadership Retreat, there was a sense of renewed energy with our leadership team. Expect big things in the coming months, including new tools and member benefits! My final message to never forget to celebrate the “people” who make you look good. We can’t do the job alone. Enjoy the rest of your summer! Jeff Jenkins, CAE TCA Executive Director
