Spring is here, and a lot is going on with the Texas Chiropractic Association. The past few weeks have been especially packed with meetings and TCA events across the state, and it will only continue to get busier. TCA is focusing on the next generation of chiropractors, chiropractors in their first five years in practice and chiropractic students. You are the future of the profession, and TCA is invested in your success. Through our Next Gen DCs Committee, we continue to offer webinars to provide information and tools to help you thrive. Last week’s webinar with Allen Miner, DC, of Chiro Match Makers was outstanding, and the May 12 webinar with Jesse Jacobs, DC, on The Art of Branding is one that every chiropractor and student – regardless of career stage – should not miss. But the Next Gen DCs aren’t just about business and practice building. There is ample time for fun. Earlier this week, we held our first Next Gen DCs Social of 2023 in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, with a robust turnout by DCs and Parker University students. We also have scheduled an event in Austin on April 20 in Austin, and plans are underway for social in Houston for local DCs and Texas Chiropractic College students. Stay tuned for more details! TCA districts have been active, with recent meetings in Dallas, El Paso, McAllen, and The Woodlands. We have meetings next week in Tyler and Fort Worth on April 10 and 11, respectively, both sponsored by TCA Sapphire Partner The Fortune Law Firm. Registration is now open for Chiro Texpo ’23, the annual Texas state event and TCA’s signature event. Chiro Texpo ’23, coming up June 23-25 at the Renaissance Dallas Addison will be epic. The speaker line-up is one of the finest ever, with former US Surgeon General Jerome Adams, MD, as the headliner. You can choose from 17 CE sessions, including Medicare, TBCE and acupuncture hours. We’ve added an Adjust Lab offering hands-on training to improve your technique, a Women’s Chiropractic Day to celebrate female DCs, a Practice & Personal Growth Series, activities and a career fair for new DCs and students, and much more! Visit our Chiro Texpo ’23 website for all the details, and don’t forget to register by May 12 to take advantage of early bird pricing. Finally, TCA’s main priorities are advocacy and legal defense. TCA’s lobbyists and legislative team are hard at work at the State Capitol pushing a pro-chiropractic agenda that, if successful, will directly benefit you, your practice, and your patients. Several TCA bills are moving through the process, and we’re optimistic they will pass. Meanwhile, TCA’s legal team continues to fight to protect chiropractic acupuncture, with a trial scheduled for August. Not many of you are paying attention to this lawsuit, but you should. It could have a major impact on our chiropractic scope in Texas. How does TCA fund our advocacy, legal defense, and positive public relations? It’s through our Chiropractic Development Initiative (CDI). April is CDI Month, and we need your help! Become a 100 x $100 CDI contributor or donate to our #movetheneedle CDI campaign to protect chiropractic acupuncture. Every dollar counts and allows TCA to fight for our profession. Thank you so much for being a TCA member, and if you’re not a member, join today and get involved. TCA is your community, and we want you to be a part of it! Sincerely, Jeff Jenkins, CAE TCA Executive Director/COO
