TCA President's Message: Don White, DC, FICC

It’s hard to believe, but Chiro Texpo ’26 is almost here and, sadly, my year as your TCA President is almost over.

First things first: If you’re not registered for Chiro Texpo ’26, what are you waiting for? For the first time in over a decade, the Texas Chiropractic Association is back in Austin for our state convention, and we’re calling it The ATX Experience, capitalizing on the unique vibe of our capital city. Join us June 26-28 at the AT&T Hotel & Conference Center. Register today!

It is going to be an epic weekend, thanks to the hard work of our Education & Events Committee, staff, and dedicated volunteers. As the son of a chiropractor and TCA Past President, I have been attending TCA conventions since I was a boy, and Chiro Texpo gets better every year. We made sure you have lots of choices, including nationally recognized experts on the main stage, elite instructors in the Adjust Lab, and niche sessions in the other classrooms. Need proof? Community remains a big part of Chiro Texpo ’26, and you’ll find it at the Boots & Bubbles Women’s Luncheon and the Next Gen sessions for new DCs and students. Get the latest chiropractic updates at Friday’s Welcome, Annual Meeting & Legislative Update before joining us for the Vendor Luncheon and Opening Night Party. On Saturday, arrive early to our exclusive luncheons. Don’t worry, it’s not too late to buy a ticket to the President’s Gala that night, where we’ll recognize the people who have given so much to our profession.

As your TCA President, I have a few asks. If you are attending Chiro Texpo ’26, please spend lots of time in the Texpo Exhibit Hall and visit our TCA Official Partners and Chiro Texpo Exhibitors and Sponsors. If you’re not a TCA member, please join now! TCA is here to protect, preserve and promote chiropractic in Texas, and we can’t do it without you! TCA is a member-driven organization, and we lean on our small army of volunteers and staff. Member Spotlight: TCA President Dr. Don White, DC

Don White, DC, has a long history in Texas chiropractic and with the Texas Chiropractic Association. The son of TCA Past President, he was a fixture at TCA events growing up. A future career in chiropractic seemed natural, and he later enrolled at Parker University. At Parker, he was actively involved in leadership roles in the student chapters for TCA and the American Chiropractic Association, serving as president and national legislative chair of the latter. Dr. White also served as class president at Parker before graduating in 2011.

After several years in practice, Dr. White became involved in leadership at the state and national levels. At TCA, he chaired the Legislative Affairs Committee for multiple legislative sessions and was the Internal Affairs Coordinator and Governmental Affairs Coordinator before being elected to the TCA Board of Directors as the District 4 State Director. Dr. White was later elected as a TCA Executive Officer and became TCA President in 2025-26. He has won several major awards with TCA, including the H. Ford Johnson Award. President’s Award, TCA District 4 Doctor of the Year and, most importantly, the prestigious Young Chiropractor of the Year Award in 2018.

Dr. White has been actively involved in ACA, serving on the Legislative Affairs Committee. He is a Fellow with the International College of Chiropractic and has been recognized by his alma mater, earning the Parker University Alumni Association’s Alumni of the Year Award in 2019.

He runs two successful practices, River Oaks Chiropractic Clinic and White Integrated Clinics, with his father, Dale White Jr., and wife, Valerie White. He and his wife are parents to two young boys.

How long have you been a TCA member and why did you join TCA?

I have been a TCA member since I was a Parker University student and it was free to be a student member. My wife, Valerie, and I have both full dues-paying members since we have been licensed! The benefits of being a member having TCA preserve, protect and promote the chiropractic profession is part of the cost of doing business each month!

What is your favorite thing about being a TCA member? Networking and helping spread this amazing profession across the state! ??

Why did you decide to serve as TCA President and why should other Texas chiropractors follow in your footsteps? We all have to do our part, and some may only want to be dues-paying members and that’s great! If someone feels called to serve in a higher capacity like I did, that’s great too. If you feel called to do more, please reach out to someone you know who is involved or to the TCA staff. We can help get you in a position that is just right for you!

How would you describe your time as a TCA Executive Officer and any highlights you care to share? I’m honored to have been able to serve the profession in many different roles in Texas for the past 13 years! It has been fun, rewarding and a great learning experience, too.

Chiro Texpo ’26 is your final event as TCA President? Why should Texas DCs be at this year’s state convention in Austin? It has been more than a decade since we hosted Chiro Texpo in Austin, so all of you Central Texas chiropractors need to come get your CE hours, network and have fun in your own backyard! I also invite my friends and colleagues to the President’s Gala on Saturday night. It’s always a highlight of Chiro Texpo.

What is the No. 1 lesson you have learned so far as a chiropractor? People need help to live a better happier life! It’s not just about pain but more so about living a fuller, more complete life!

Who has been the key influence in your chiropractic career? My dad and my wife. Both are chiropractors, and both have inspired me in many different ways! I love them both.

What’s something about you (a fun fact) that not many people know about you? I have an identical twin. He is “my big brother.” Dale is a great family man who I admire for his dedication to his family/our family.

A Message from TCA Texas Women’s Chiropractic Collaborative Co-Chairs

TCA Launches Texas Women’s Chiropractic Collaborative

Chiropractic has shifted dramatically in the past few decades, with what was once a male-dominated profession becoming increasingly diverse.

Current research indicates that around 42% of today’s chiropractors are female, and the numbers are growing. Parker University reports that 46% of students currently enrolled in its chiropractic college are female, with Texas Chiropractic College around 40%.

While women have already become a bigger presence in the clinical setting, they are slowly making inroads in key leadership positions at the state and national levels. Still, in the Texas Chiropractic Association’s 111-year history, there have been only two women who have served as TCA President – Dr. Herbie McMennamy (1972-73) and Dr. Alayna Pagnani-Gendron (2021-22). But things are changing; one-quarter of the incoming 2026-27 TCA Board of Directors are women, and several others will chair state committees. At TCA, there is no barrier to serve: just show up and get involved!

TCA recognizes the growing importance of women in chiropractic. These doctors face challenges in a demanding profession, balancing their careers, families and personal lives. That’s why TCA has launched the Texas Women’s Chiropractic Collaborative (TWCC).

The TWCC was created to build a powerful community for female DCs and chiropractic students. While TWCC’s mission is evolving, the group is committed to provide connection, education and valuable resources to help women thrive in the profession.

TWCC invites female chiropractors and students to Chiro Texpo ’26, our Texas state convention, the weekend of June 26-28 at the AT&T Hotel and Conference Center in Austin. Chiro Texpo’s speaker line-up is impressive and includes renowned female chiropractic voices, including the Foundation for Chiropractic Progress’ Dr. Sherry McAllister, neurology expert Dr. Monika Buerger, the inspiring Dr. Cindy Howard, and master trainer Lori Allen, who will show you and your staff how to build a more efficient and profitable practice.

TWCC also is excited to announce our Boots & Bubbles Women’s Luncheon on Saturday, June 27. Walk the pink carpet, grab a bubbly drink, and connect with your colleagues at this signature event. It’s the perfect opportunity to celebrate the amazing women shaping our profession. Stay tuned as we recognize several DCs with the Texas Women’s Leadership and Service Award. Expect lively conversations, fun photo moments, a fabulous swag bag and plenty of Austin Glam energy. Space is limited! When you register for Chiro Texpo ’26, RSVP for the Women’s Luncheon. There’s no cost to attend. Register for Chiro Texpo by the May 31 early deadline to save off your registration fee.

TWCC will continue to take shape in the coming years. The luncheon is our kickoff event, but we’re possibly planning a retreat and business and education offerings in the coming months. However, we need your input and active participation to make it meaningful.
