It’s election season for the Texas Chiropractic Association’s districts around the state. Congratulations to the following leaders who recently were elected by their chiropractic colleagues for 2019-20! DISTRICT 1 Oliver (Tony) Tony Smith III, DC, and Michael Ponce, DC, both of El Paso, were re-elected to the State Director and Vice Director positions for District 1, respectively. Jose Muniz, DC, of El Paso was voted Secretary/Treasurer. DISTRICT 4 Steve Sanders, DC, of Fort Worth was re-elected for another term as District 4 State Director. Gideon Traweek, DC, of Fort Worth, will continue as Vice Director, along with Mirna Masri, DC, of Arlington and Bronson Lester, DC, of Fort Worth as Secretary and Treasurer, respectively. State Directors are Jerry Day, DC, of Grapevine; Steven Dotson, DC, of Colleyville; Jessica Judge, DC, of Justin; and Tony Kelsoe, DC, of Grapevine. DISTRICT 5 Andrew Oteo, DC, of Frisco is the new District 5 State Director, taking over for Andrea McDonald, DC, of Mesquite. The Vice Director position is vacant and will be filled soon, while Ricky Hanks, DC, of Dallas was re-elected as Secretary/Treasurer. District Directors for District 5 include Phil Cook, DC, of Garland; James Fowler, DC, of Rowlett; Paul Heikkinen, DC, of Mesquite; Paul Liechty, DC, of Mesquite; Andrea Ohmann, DC, of Plano; and Lori Tieperman, DC, of Frisco. DISTRICT 7 Ryan Bailey, DC, was re-elected as District 7 State Director. Three doctors were elected as Vice Directors – Nick Anthony, DC, of Abilene; Michael Chapman, DC, of San Angelo; and Lorin Wolf, DC, of Early. District 7 is looking to fill the other officer positions in the coming weeks. DISTRICT 11 Jose Simon, DC, of Houston was re-elected to a third term as District 11 State Director. Tony Branker, DC, of Houston moves up to Vice Director, with Alayna Pagnani-Gendron, DC, advancing to state leadership as the TCA Secretary/Treasurer-Elect. Reid Amedee, DC, of Conroe and Alvaro Medina, DC, of Richmond return as Secretary and Treasurer, respectively. District Directors include Christopher Cochran, DC, of Seabrook; Danielle Cockburn, DC, of Houston; Paul Harris, DC, of Spring; Adam Stewart, DC, of Houston; and Ashley Winslow, DC, of Fresno. In addition, TCA Districts 3 and 9 have scheduled elections for later this month. The new officers will be announced in the next issue of eSource. New District Officers will take over their posts at the conclusion of Chiro Texpo ’19, TCA’s annual convention, on June 7-9 at the Hyatt Regency Dallas.
