Parker Toliver, DC, has over 20 years of experience as an athlete, coach, Marine, and chiropractor. His personal journey, shaped by years of overcoming injuries, has given him deep insight into the challenges of physical well-being. These experiences have fueled Dr. Toliver's passion for helping others avoid improper training and rehabilitation practices. Dr. Toliver began with eight years as a certified professional gymnastics coach, working alongside Olympians and other professional athletes. After serving in the United States Marine Corps, he pursued chiropractic studies at Parker University and became board-certified in Texas. Specializing in upper cervical chiropractic care and rehabilitation, he takes a “less is best” approach, combining precise adjustments with targeted rehabilitative techniques to achieve actual, lasting results. As the owner of Decompress Chiropractic, Dr. Toliver is committed to bringing affordable, high-quality care to the Dallas- Fort Worth community without sacrificing integrity or effectiveness. Frustrated by the fee-driven mindset of many chiropractic clinics, he founded his practice on honesty, expertise, and patient-focused care. His mission is simple: deliver results-driven chiropractic care that empowers people to take control of their health. How long have you been a TCA member and why did you join TCA? I was first brought into the TCA family when I met with Dr. Don White, current TCA President, and Dr. William Morgan, President of Parker University, in 2019. Those two showed me how important the TCA was for not only chiropractors but students, too. Politics is a silent killer of our system if not lobbied correctly. Therefore, if there is even an ounce of care for the future of our patients and our livelihood, joining is the best choice, as it will, at the very least, help other chiropractors help you. What is your favorite thing about being a TCA member? The connections. It's incredible the people you get to meet, and I'm not only talking about other chiropractors. Politicians, businesses, and all other supporters of our healthcare, who remain desperate for a better path for conservative healthcare. Why did you decide to serve as TCA District 6 State Director, and what do you hope to achieve in your leadership role? Dr. White has been a good friend of mine and has been extremely caring and helpful since I first started my career. When we saw each other at Neurocon this summer at Parker University, he point-blank asked me and that was it. He has been there for me, so I hope to return the generosity to him and others. What is the biggest lesson you have learned so far as a chiropractor? Be slow and steady, learn from others, even if you don't like what they do. You learn more from failure and gain a better advantage point from it. Reach out to other professions; you'll be surprised at how interested they are in your service. In watching others, stop chasing clout; you're there for the patient, not the fame. Who has been the key influence in your chiropractic career? My patients. I have learned more from listening and reacting to their needs and desperate pleas for help. In doing so, I have gained an immense amount of knowledge and understanding that has kept me grounded from all the noise. What is your chiropractic philosophy and how do you implement it in your practice? Every day is a new day. Every patient is different, and no patient is the same the next day. No patient deserves to be doubted but maybe redirected. When you think you know, you don't; feeling right can be dangerous without proper self-examination. You don't cure, you merely guide, and the body does the rest. What’s something about you (a fun fact) that not many people know about you? I love Formula 1 and GT Racing.
